Issue 5 Message From Our Chairman My sincere thanks to all of our customers and research colleagues whose podium and poster presentations resulted in the most exciting of the 35 RSNA’s it has been my privilege to attend.  Also further validating PEM's clinical utility are recently published studies comparing PEM and MRI in both the journal Radiology and the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging with 2 more manuscripts scheduled to be published in Q1 2011.  All this has generated an overwhelmingly positive response from the breast imaging community, which has resulted in dramatic, double-digit  increase in Orders and Sales.  This will enable us to continue to reinvest in additional research aimed at accelerating reductions in dose, improvements in image quality and new clinical applications. While we have many commercial and technological achievements to be proud of, the one over-riding consideration that transcends those internal goals is our commitment and ability to make a difference in the lives of your patients.  To that end, I invite you to listen to two patient testimonials.  The first patient was only able to get a correct diagnosis from PEM; the second could not tolerate a Breast MR exam and found PEM to be not only an alternative, but as our recently published NIH data show, a better and more specific alternative, less likely to prompt unnecessary biopsies. 2010 is wrapping up to be a banner year. 2011 looks to be even dramatically better as we launch our technology in new markets around the world and expand, by a factor of 4, our distribution presence in the United States. This represents a significant improvement in specificity and resulted in a 26% improvement in positive predictive value (PPV).
